Mynydd Llandegai sign goal king Alan Owen and quality keeper Elgan Roberts

CPD Mynydd Llandegai have made two key signings for the closing weeks of the 2025-26 season.
Experienced goal-getter Alan “Blacks” Owen and goalkeeper Elgan Roberts have joined the Tier 4 North West Coast West Premier Division side.
ALAN OWEN

With well in excess of 200 goals on his record, the 34-year-old Owen makes Llandegai the 11th club of his career.
He began the season at Gwalchmai, where he was top-scorer.
Owen’s other clubs have been Mountain Rangers, Caernarfon Borough, Caernarfon Town, Llanllyfni, Llangefni Town, Bontnewydd, Gaerwen, Llanberis and Llanrug United, where he experienced the most success, scoring 96 goals.
During his time at Eithin Duon, he won the Mawddach Cup and was named Player of the Season in 2015-16.
Back in 2013-14, Alan joined Caernarfon Town and had some first team opportunities as well as finishing top-scorer for the reserves side which won their league.
In 2018-19, he hit 19 goals for a Llangefni Town side crowned Welsh Alliance League champions.
A powerful and skilful striker, he has been warmly welcomed by current Llandegai manager Huw Davies.
“Al doesn’t need much introduction,” said Davies. “Those who follow local football will know what he offers to a team and his goalscoring record over the years speaks for itself! He’s scored goals everywhere he’s been and I am sure the same will apply when he pulls on the Mynydd shirt for the first time on Saturday.
“We’ve been performing well below par so far and it’s been a poor season for us. Lack of goals has been a major factor and we’ve been drifting out of games despite creating enough chances. “Losing Alwyn Roberts to an MCL injury at the start of the season was a big blow. As he remains out until next season, signing a striker of Alan’s ability as we move in to the business end of the season was a priority. Alan’s physical presence, aerial threat and general ability to score a range of goals is going to be a massive asset for us as we look to finish the season strongly. I’m delighted to have him join for the remainder of the season.”
ELGAN ROBERTS

Joins Llandegai from Mountain Rangers.
This 26-year-old keeper has also previously played for CPD Llanystumdwy, Porthmadog Development and CPD Nefyn United – Tim Datblygu.
Roberts made 32 apppearances for Llanystumdwy between 2022-23 and January 2024, then featured 13 times for Port before switching to Rangers at the start of 2025-26.
Huw Davies added: “Elgan is someone I’ve had my eye on for a while. Unfortunately a knee injury has hampered his season so far and he hasn’t played as much as he would have wanted to for that reason, but he’s back to fitness and looking to get back to playing.
“Again, the goalkeeper position was an area we needed to strengthen in order to ensure we have sufficient cover and competition in that position as we approach the final months of the season; so I’m really pleased to get him on board before the deadline.”
