ADRAN PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP CONFERENCE – MARCH 15, 2026

Swansea City 1 (John 25)
Wrexham 7 (Suckley 23, 35; Knox 54, 66; Barker 70, 90+3; Mahmood 88)

What a night to record your biggest away win and joint highest victory ever in the Adran Premier!

Wrexham roared to the top of the Championship Conference table with a seven-goal salvo at Swansea and will be crowned league champions if they can defeat Cardiff City at STōK Cae Ras this Sunday

Any other result against the reigning champions will mean the battle for the title goes down to the final weekend of the campaign.

Wednesday night’s magic show in South Wales saw the Red Dragons equal their 7-1 home triumph over Aberystwyth Town in February 2025.

Their previous highest away successes were a pair of 6-1’s at Barry and Pontypridd this season, but Jenny Sugarman’s side went one better versus the Swans.

The deadlock was broken in the 23rd minute when Lili Mai Jones crossed deep from the right and the powerful Ava Suckley placed a perfect header beyond keeper Amelia Forkings.

Swansea were soon level when Taite Trivett sent a cross from the left across the six-yard box and Stacey John’s effort at the back post just crept over the goal-line.

Ava Suckley (red) scored twice for the visitors

Wrexham were back in front on 35 when Faye Knox found Katie Barker, whose neat pass released Suckley, who applied a precise finish for her ninth goal of the season.

All to play for at the break, but the pride of North Wales took total control after the interval.

In the 54th minute, the unstoppable Knox cut in from the left and from all of 25 yards sent a dipping screamer beyond the hapless Forkings.

With 66 gone it was 4-1, Phoebe Davies sending the ball forward to Knox, who netted from an angle to make it 18 goals in 21 matches for the Red Dragons.

Faye Knox (front) added another 2 goals to her haul

Knox turned provider on 70 when she released striker Barker, who raced clear, rounded the keeper and found the empty net.

Wrexham were not finished as on 88 minutes, Forkings failed to get much purchase on a punch from a Maria Francis-Jones free kick and Jodie Bartle drilled across the six-yard area for sub Mariam Mahmood to guide home her 10th goal of 2025-26 from close range.

Who else but Young Barker? Katie added another two goals to her season’s total of 21 in the league and 25 in all comps

Three minutes into added time Mahmood’s 30-yard strike bounced out off the post and Barker was there to net her 21st league goal this term – boosting her own all-time record total for the Adran Premier in a single season – and making it 25 goals in all competitions.

This Wrexham side proved tonight they are something very special indeed.

They deserve to win this title – let’s hope they can complete the job on Sunday.
