Wrexham AFC Women striker Katie Barker has set a new record for the most goals scored in a Genero Adran Premier season – with four rounds of matches still to play.
The 25-year-old delivered another double in Sunday’s 4-1 victory over The New Saints to boost her top-flight tally to 19 goals from just 16 games.
Barker began the day equal with previous record holder Cardiff City’s Eliza Collie, who netted 17 times for the Bluebirds in 2023-24.
However, WSL 2 club Newcastle United’s all-time highest markswoman with 67 goals is now out on her own in the Adran Premier, which began in 2021-22.
Barker had already passed the previous most goals in a Tier 1 season collected by a Wrexham player, the 15 scored by Rosie Hughes in 2023-24.
In all matches for Wrexham this term, Barker has notched 23 goals in 23 matches.
Her nearest rival this season in the Adran Premier is Chloe Chivers of Swansea City on 16.
