Denbigh Town 1 (Hellon 23) Llangefni Town 3 (F Owen 33, Brown 44, 67)

Llangefni fought back from going a goal behind to pick up maximum points at Central Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Ynys Môn side extended their perfect record to 12 straight wins and remain a point behind league leaders Kinmel Bay with two games in hand.

With Cefni set to be awarded three points after Henllan were unable to fulfill a recent fixture between the teams, Dan Gregg’s side are technically in top spot.

Llangefni’s remaining games are:

Apr 5: CPD Pwllheli (home)
Apr 12: Kinmel Bay (home)
Apr 19: CPDM Henllan (away)

Kinmel Bay’s final two fixtures are:

Apr 12: Llangefni Town (away)
Apr 19: Trearddur Bay (home)

Sunday’s visit to Denbigh proved a tough test for the Anglesey girls.

The hosts took a 23rd minute lead when a delivery from the right by Amber Hellon flew into the net.

Cefni equalised on 33 minutes with a goal of tremendous quality.

Ffion Owen (left) scored an absolute stunner, while Cerys Gadd (right) assisted for the third goal

Midfielder Ffion Owen showed great determination to win the ball outside the box and then with a swift turn left two opponents standing before firing home a beauty with minimal backlift.

Just a minute before the break, Llangefni’s Amber Brown received a precise pass into the box and displayed dazzling footwork before applying a deadly finish.

The visitors went 3-1 up midway through the second half.

Cerys Gadd lofted a free kick into the box from the left and although Brown’s first effort was kept out she followed up to score her 21st goal of the season.

Denbigh pushed to get back into the game, but the islanders remained in control to make it a dozen matches without defeat.
