Happy birthday to one of Wrexham area football’s finest ever

Happy birthday Mikey Latham – one of the most prolific goalscorers in North Wales football this season.
Born on March 22, 1990, the FC Queen’s Park dynamo is by far the leading marksman in the Tier 4 North East Wales League Division One in 2025-26 with 20 goals.
In all competitions, he has fired in 28 goals in 21 matches. Even more remarkably, he has knocked in a ridiculous 31 goals in just NINE matches for FC Queen’s Park Vets.
That makes his overall total this season 59 goals in 30 games for the Wrexham-based club.
Unfortunately, there are no complete stats available from Mikey’s senior football career, but the overall goals total must be in the hundreds (anyone who might be able to help please get in touch).
Going back to 2019-20, the first season covered by the Cymru Football App, Mikey’s grand total in all matches since then is 146 goals.

It certainly helps the player’s stats that he is deadly from the penalty spot and has bagged his fair share of net-busters from free kicks.
Representing Rhosddu and Gresford Athletic in his youth, Latham signed up for Welsh Premier club Cefn Druids, where he made five substitute appearances at the start of 2008-09 before joining Lex XI in September 2008.
After brief spells at Llangollen Town and Caernarfon Town under Simon Sedgwick in 2009-10, Mikey later moved to Penycae, Brymbo and Gresford Athletic, where he scored 28 goals in 35 appearances as the Colliers won the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division title in 2014/15.
The player joined Queen’s Park for the first time in 2018 and enjoyed a steady two years – prior to and after the pandemic – before switching to Cefn Albion at the start of 2021-22.

On his Albion debut, he netted in a 4-1 Welsh Cup win – against Queen’s Park!
He pocketed 17 goals in 26 first team appearances for the Ardal North East club before rejoining Queen’s Park in the 2023 January transfer window.
His impact was phenomenal as he piled up 31 goals in 18 appearances, helping the Park land a treble of North East Wales League Premier Division title, Mike Beech Memorial Trophy and Horace Wynne Cup.
Since returning to the Park at the beginning of 2023, he has amassed 91 first team goals in just 83 appearances.
Mikey has played in Tiers 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Welsh pyramid and is the ultimate goal scoring midfielder who right now is in the form of his life.
Happy birthday mate!
