Tickets are reasonably priced – but how hard will travel cost hit supporters?
Tickets for the 2026 JD Welsh Cup Final between Caernarfon Town and Flint Town United will go on sale at 12pm on Friday 20 March.
The two clubs will compete to lift the world’s third-oldest domestic cup at Rodney Parade, Newport, on Sunday 12 April (KO 15:15).
Caernarfon have reached their first-ever final and therefore are aiming to win the competition for the first time in their history, while Flint are in the final for the first time since they lifted the trophy on the only previous occasion in 1954.
- Supporters of Caernarfon Town can purchase tickets in Block G of the Bisley Stand or in the South Stand.
- Supporters of Flint Town United can initially purchase tickets in Block B of the Bisley Stand. Block A will open dependent on demand.
- Blocks D and E of the Bisley Stand will be used as a neutral section.
Tickets can be bought online for the following prices (plus booking fee):
Adults – £8.00
Juniors (16 & Under) – £5.00
All tickets bought online will be digitally issued through the Cymru Tickets app, no later than 24 hours before kick-off. Tickets purchased fewer than 48 hours before the match will be delivered no later than five hours before kick-off.
Tickets will then be available to buy on the gate on matchday for increased prices:
Adults – £15.00
Juniors (16 & Under) – £10.00

Change of venue never considered
Although the venue was chosen early in the season, it would surely not have been beyond the FAW’s remit or power to change the final’s location to North Wales once the finalists were known for the sake of supporters of both clubs.
However, despite wide criticism of staging Caernarfon Town v Flint Town United in Newport, with even politicians throwing their names behind a suggested change of venue (most of them show no interest in Welsh domestic football at any other time), the FAW never at any point took on board the possibility of switching location.
Let’s hope the final is well supported. At least with both playing in the Cymru Premier, Caernarfon and Flint fans will be used to long distance travel. Having the final on a Sunday and the travel costs and other issues that brings only adds to the bafflement of the FAW’s decision, but Hensol are not for changing….so a South Wales rugby ground it is!
