There was a dramatic finish to a fantastic game of ladies’ football between Kinmel Bay and Mochdre Lionesses, played over three competitive 20-minute periods.
Mochdre started strongly and almost took the lead early on when a thunderous effort tested the Bay defence, but goalkeeper Hannah Roberts reacted brilliantly to make a great save.
Just minutes later she was called into action again, producing an excellent double stop to deny the Lionesses and keep the score level.
Kinmel Bay responded well and took the lead in the 5th minute. Bex Gregson threaded a lovely through ball into the path of Becca Skelton, who showed great composure to calmly slot the ball into the back of the net.
Mochdre continued to press and were rewarded when Bethan Smith played a well-timed pass to find Charlotte Thomas. The resulting effort was caught by the Bay keeper, but unfortunately slipped from her grip and rolled into the net to level the match at 1–1.
The second 20-minute period saw both teams come out battling hard again, with neither side willing to give ground. Kinmel Bay came close when Gregson unleashed a thunderous strike from distance, but Mochdre goalkeeper Kelsey Hughes produced a superb diving save to tip the ball wide. Despite chances at both ends, the second period ended with the score still 1–1.
The final third began with both teams raising the intensity even further, creating an exciting finish to the match. With the clock running down and the game finely balanced, Mochdre found the decisive moment. In the final seconds, Olivia Sutcliffe delivered a great pass to Bethan Smith, who drilled a powerful shot into the back of the net to secure a late winner for the Lionesses.

- Mochdre POTM: Charlotte Thomas – for giving her all and putting in a strong performance across the full game.

- Steph Farley – solid in defence all game and delivered some excellent long passes from the back.

Alaw Hughes scored four goals as Llanrwst bounced back from their recent heavy defeat in some style.
Hughes made it 14 goals for the season and eight in her last four matches for the Conwy Valley side, who also found the net through Beca Davies, Nanw Williams and Nel Evans.
Elizabeth Dunn replied with a double for Phoenix Yellows.
