NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE

CWPAN SNOWDONIA FIRE PROTECTION QUARTER-FINALS

CPD Nefyn United 2 Talysarn Celts 0

Nefyn United man of the match Deio Rhys Jones

Nefyn marched into the final four of the Cwpan Snowdonia Fire Protection, delivering a dominant 2-0 win.
While the scoreboard suggests a professional victory, the reality was a dominant performance that saw the woodwork rattled on four separate occasions by the Penwaig.
The deadlock was broken by captain Llyr Pennant Williams when he rose highest in a crowded box to meet a great delivery from Tomos Huw, powering a header home to give Nefyn the vital lead. For Tomos Huw, it is yet another assist in a season defined by great distribution from the left flank.
Nefyn’s dominance was total. The visitors were saved by the narrowest of margins, as the Penwaig hit the frame of the goal four times during the contest. Talysarn lived on a knife-edge as Nefyn’s attackers repeatedly beat the keeper, only to be denied by the woodwork.
The pressure eventually told. Tomi Evans showcased his tireless work rate, harrying the defense into a mistake before threading a pass to Steffan Toplis. The January signing made no mistake, clinicaly dispatching the second from the edge of the box to kill off the tie and send Nefyn into the semis.
While the woodwork and the goals told the story at one end, Deio Rhys Jones was the architect in the middle of the park, with the 16 year old being named Player of the match.

CPD Boded 1 Nantlle Vale 2

Alex Kalafusz secured Nantlle Vale a semi-final berth with a 92nd minute winner at Bodedern.
Chris Jones put the hosts ahead on 16 minutes with his seventh goal in three games, and it stayed 1-0 until early in the second half when Llion Griffiths equalised.
In a frantic ending, Boded had Callum Hughes red-carded in the 90th minute and soon after James Bell set up Kalafusz for the decider.

Gwalchmai 2 CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 1

Although still without a league win, cup specialists Gwalchmai advanced to the last four of the Cwpan Snowdonia with an heroic victory over Penrhyndeudraeth.
Gwalch took a 53rd minute lead through Cian Owen, Cai Henshaw levelled on 57, but sub Callum Edwards’ first goal for the club with 92 on the clock earned the islanders their first win since their last success in this cup – a 2-0 beating of Mynydd Llandegai in November.

Menai Bridge Tigers 4 Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 0

Matthew Jones struck twice in three second half minutes in the Tigers’ cup triumph over Blaenau at Treborth.
Jones bagged his 19th and 20th goals of the season after Menai had taken a 37th minute lead through Cameron Jones.
Sub Callum Thomas added a fourth for the hosts, who also missed a penalty via Joni Sadler in the second half.

CWPAN MENAI TRACTORS QUARTER-FINALS

CPD Cefni 1 CPD Mountain Rangers 2

Goals from Llion Roberts and sub Rhys Jones put Rangers through to their second semi-final of the season.
Already into the NWCFA Junior Challenge Cup final, the Cae Gors side led 2-0 before James Ryan pulled one back for Cefni.

CPD Gaerwen 3 CPD Aberffraw 1 (AET)

Big result for Gaerwen as they knocked the Division One leaders out of the league cup.
After a blank first half, Andy Clarke nudged Berffro ahead early in the second period, but then Brooklyn Jones levelled on 62 before man-in-form Anthony Williams scored twice in extra time, one a penalty to seal a great outcome for the Auctioneers.

Llanfairpwll 3 Amlwch Town 2

Two former Tier 2 sides played out a thrilling cup tie which saw Llanfairpwll narrowly gain the upper hand.
Neither net was found until four minutes into the second half, when Cian Evans put Amlwch one-up.
Aled Davies levelled on 63 and when Carwyn Roberts made it 2-1 Llanfair after 87, it looked like the home side were through.
However, Shane Jones equalised a minute over the 90 and extra time loomed, only for sub Cameron O’Neill to bag a dramatic winner.

Llangoed & District 0 Holyhead Town 3

Sion Davies (2) and Mike Edwards grabbed the goals which booked Holyhead a place in the last four.
This was a third win on the bounce for the Harbourmen, who had lost 3-1 at Tyddyn Paun in the league back in August.

PREMIER DIVISION

Bontnewydd 0 CPD Llanystumdwy 4

CPD Mynydd Llandegai 6 CPD Llannerchymedd 2
