Radnor Valley claimed a hard fought win over Penycae at The Bypass to extend their run in Lock Stock Ardal North East to one defeat in their last nine outings.
On a gloomy afternoon in the Radnorshire borderlands, it was the visitors who opened the scoring after six minutes when Tom Blaze was picked out by Tom Edwards’ well-timed pass before coolly slotting the ball past Otto Jones in the home goal.
The Goats were back on level terms in the 19th minute when Matt Croose lifted the ball over Penycae custodian Ben Edwards when 25 yards out from goal after being played in by Jack Clarke. The hosts went ahead for the first time five minutes later, following a swift break down their right-hand flank, which ended with Croose firing the ball past Edwards after being found by Isaac Price.
Radnor Valley extended their lead further six minutes before the interval when Joey Price swept home a Cian Bufton cross from the right flank.
Penycae halved the deficit when a 68th minute free-kick was headed back across goal and Ryan Dacey was on hand to head past Jones from close-range.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser in the final quarter but the Goats’ rearguard held firm, despite the pressure placed on their goal in the closing stages, to secure three points that moved the New Radnor outfit into sixth position in the table.
Llanuwchllyn 2 Corwen 1

Dale Davies’ 94th minute winner clinched the result which kept Llanuwchllyn 13 points clear at the summit.
Sion Tudor’s home side were given a tough examination by improving visitors Corwen.
Meilir Williams’ 45th minute penalty – the striker’s 38th goal of the season – was all that separated the sides at half time.
James Rainbird equalised on 58 and it looked like a point apiece would be the outcome before Davies broke his former club’s hearts with that late decider, sub Steffan Dolben with the assist.
Cefn Albion 2 Builth Wells 1
Josh Millington’s 56th minute goal banked the points for Cefn at The MUGA.
William Evans’ 21st minute own goal handed Albion the lead, but Owain Rowlands restored parity early in the second half.
Dolgellau Athletic 2 Llanrhaeadr 2
Evan Roberts salvaged a point for Llanrhaeadr with an equalising goal in the 94th minute at Cae Marian.
After a goalless first half, Will Howard edged the visitors in front on 50, but Paul Lewis made it 1-1 after 59 before captain Gerwyn Williams appeared to have won it for Dol with his 26th goal of the campaign with 87 on the clock.
However, there a late twist….
Kerry 1 Bow Street 2
Bow stay within a point of second-place Knighton after second-half strikes from Josh Taylor and Jordan Perry sealed maximum spoils at MTJ Dolforgan Park.
Kerry had managed to equalise on 65 through David Laird, but it was the travelllers who had the final say,
Knighton Town 2 Llanfair United 0
Knighton stay second after a Luke Boundford penalty and Kieran Donvey strike, after 36 and 71 minutes respectively, cemented victory over Llanfair at Bryn-y-Castell.
Lex XI 0 Llandrindod Wells 3
Goals in the final quarter from Robert Nicholls, Thomas Durant and Jack Evans ensured Wells added a W to their record.
Rhos Aelwyd 0 Llangollen Town 2
Llangollen’s great run continued as they made it four wins in succession – three of those coming away from home.
Daniel Smith and Iwan Hardy netted the first-half goals which made sure Town lifted themselves out of the bottom two.
