Llandudno football legend Lee Thomas continues to create his own special pieces of history.
The former front man for Llandudno FC, for whom he made 80 Cymru Premier appearances, is now leading Tier 4 Llandudno Amateurs’ charge towards the North Wales Coast Premier Division title.
Thomas made it 17 goals from as many appearances for the Amateurs this season by netting all four in his team’s magnificent win at leaders Llansannan on Saturday. The 42-year-old is also third highest scorer in the Premier on 14 goals.
Saturday’s result saw the Amateurs close the gap at the top to 2 points with four games in hand over table-toppers Sannan.
Thomas put the visitors ahead with a superb header after some excellent work and cross from Azzy Rogers.
Llansannan struck back on 36 minutes when a delivery into the box caught Amateurs off guard and Andy Thomas side-foot volleyed home from close range.
Amateurs retook the lead on 45. Ant Tidswell won a header and found Rogers, who swung his left foot at the ball and it broke to Thomas, who made no mistake.
Early in the second half Llansannan were awarded a penalty which Dafydd Jones fired into the top corner.
Amateurs dug in and took the lead again after an excellent move down the right hand side, Jack Kearney delivered a fantastic cross met by Thomas, who completed his hat-trick with a phenomenal header.
Llansannan rallied in a bid to equalise for a third time, but it was Amateurs who put the game to bed late on after quality work from Joe Jones down the left who beat his man and crossed into the box where Thomas timed his run to perfection to head home.
Harry Croston handed Llanfairfechan a 10th minute lead, but Rhidian Williams equalised on 25 to make it 1-1 at the break.
The second half saw Town take over, Thomas Croston, Ellis Jones, Dylan Edwards and a second for Harry Croston guiding them to a 5-1 success.
First-half strikes from Connor Morris (penalty) and Lewis Thompson put Kinmel Bay in control at the interval before a third goal from Anthony Jones on 83 minutes sealed a win for the unbeaten hosts.
Cieran Williams (2) and Isaac Carey shared the goals in Conwy’s victory.
A fuller report was published on Grassroots North Wales on Saturday.
Harry Payne was a hat-trick hero for Henllan – his tally including two penalties – and Shaun Davies was also on the mark in an emphatic home success.
Penrhyn Bay moved to within three points of leaders Prestatyn Sports with two games in hand after a narrow victory over Llysfaen.
The prolific Mike Chapman struck twice for the visitors, but Femi Allison, Bernardas Subkovas and Andrew Butterworth’s 84th minute clincher sealed Bay’s triumph.
Sports stormed into the REM Jones Cup final at the expense of NWCFA Junior Cup finalists Llandyrnog.
Captain Mike Jones bagged a brace to move up to 23 goals this season, Matty Griffiths also netted twice to raise his total to 17 in 2025-26 and Dylan Taylor added a single.
Liam Bowers’ hat-trick – including an 86th minute decider – sent Rhuddlan into the 2025-26 REM Jones Cup final.
Bowers, now on 28 goals for the campaign, also scored after 60 and 77, the latter a penalty.
