ARDAL NORTH LEAGUE CUP: Trearddur Bay, Bangor City 1876 and Llanuwchllyn reach semi-finals

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH LEAGUE CUP QUARTER-FINALS – FEBRUARY 28, 2026
CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 3 Llangefni Town 1

A third semi-final place in 28 days was booked by Bangor City 1876 as they beat Llangefni Town for a fourth time this season to reach the Ardal North League Cup last four.
Saturday’s 3-1 victory at Bangor City Stadium came just three days after the Citizens saw off Cefni by that very score at the same venue in the FAW Amateur Trophy quarter-finals.
In fact, since January 31, Michael Johnston’s men have won three home quarters by an identical scoreline, also advancing to the Welsh Cup semis at the expense of Caerau Ely.
Saturday’s tussle saw City take the lead on the cusp of half time through captain Tom Clarke – his third goal of the season.
Déjà vu was everywhere on Saturday as 12 minutes into the second half Ifan Mansoor – as he had also done on Wednesday – equalised for Llangefni.
Yet again, Town were giving their hosts plenty to think about, but on 62 minutes the hosts won a penalty which Declan McManus converted to make it 2-1.
McManus struck again after 70 minutes to make it six goals in as many games since joining the Citizens in January.
And that was the end ot the scoring.
Cefn Albion 0 Trearddur Bay 4

Two second half goals apiece from Tom Hilditch and Sebastian Samuel sent Trearddur Bay storming into the semis.
It was a difficult afternoon at The MUGA for the home side.
The first half was a very tight affair with little to separate the sides, Kien Morris going close for the Cefners, while Bay struck the woodwork at the other end.
The game remained in the balance early in the second half, but at the midway point the visitors struck with two quick goals which proved a major turning point.
Albion tried to respond, but Trearddur managed the game well and added further goals late on to put the tie beyond reach.
Nigerian Samuel bagged a rapid double before Hilditch made it three.
Hilditch then converted a spot-kick in the 83rd minute for his 26th goal of the season.
CPD Llanuwchllyn 3 Bow Street 0
Ardal North East leaders Llanuwchllyn would not be denied their place in the semis by fellow league high-flyers Bow Street.
Gwydion Ifan provided Llan with the perfect start, scoring in the very first minute.
Dale Davies made it two with 15 gone and Joe Vaughan pocketed a crucial third early in the second half.

ROUND TWO
Knighton Town 5 CPD Rhos Aelwyd 2
Captain Luke Boundford was a hat-trick hero as Ardal North East outfit Knighton went through to the quarter-finals where a meeting with Llay Welfare is on the agenda.
Ex-Newtown striker Boundford struck first on 37 minutes, but Kai Morris equalised close to half time.
Callum Stead restored the home lead after 58, then Boundford put away a penalty with 74 on the clock.
Sub Owen Jones gave the Aelwyd hope with an 83rd minute reply, but Boundford soon completed his treble to make it 26 goals for the season.
And sub Connor Bird added another before the end to make absolutely sure.
