CPD Cei Connah end unbeaten league season as champions with a victory

NORTH EAST WALES WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE – FEB 15

FINAL TABLE 2025-26

CPD Cei Connah 4 (Amber, Harrison, Clark, R Jones)
Northop Hall Blues 1 (Jackson)

Champions Cei Connah completed their league campaign as an unbeaten side after beating visitors Northop Hall at Deeside Leisure Centre.

Hall were quick off the mark with their runs in behind Cei’s defence and managed to score early through Tia-Jane Jackson.

The home defence did a great job reading the warning signs and kept it tight at the back from then on.

Cei came back shortly after with a brilliant corner from Amber Taylor which ended up in the back of the net with a bit of help from Laura Green.

Stacy Harrison then inevitably got her first 25th league goal of the season 20 minutes in, assisted by Green.

The second half started with keeper Amy Clark outfield and scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes assisted by stand-in stopper Green, who sent it long to the scorer.

Rebecca Jones finished the scoring for the day when Clarke found her in space 20 yards out from goal. A brilliant shot made it 4-1.

Players of the match were Alex Garbett and Clark.

Cei Connah said after the match: “This marked our final league game as league champions. It’s been a fantastic season of growth, lessons – and wins.

“Everyone who played a part in this team throughout the season should be extremely proud of their achievement. Unbeaten all season in only our 2nd season together 💜

“We continue in the cup games now to round off our season.”

Coedpoeth United 3 Hawarden Park Ladies 1

Runners-up Coedpoeth rounded off their league fixtures with a win on Tuesday.

Goals from Lily Denby, Kimberley Pugh and keeper Molly Jones put the Wrexham side three-up before Hawarden clawed one back.
