SILYN AUR were on cloud nine after achieving their first win in Division Two at the 11th attempt this week. Llongyfarchiadau!
Second-place Walis Bryncoch trimmed the gap on leaders Menai Mavericks to six points after Wednesday’s 31-12 win over Bethesda in DIVISION 1 of the Cynghrair Pêl-rwyd Hogan Gwynedd a Môn Netball League.
Bryncoch led just 10-8 at half time, but came on strong in the final two quarters to record a 19-goal victory.
In a mid-table battle, Dolgellau earned a good 22-13 victory against Dreigiau’r Dyffryn.
After edging the opener 6-5, Dol steadily built on their lead.
In DIVISION 2, Thunderbirds top the table by two points after a 32-16 triumph over Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Mared Williams was outstanding for Blaenau, who were nonetheless always a fair way behind in this one.
Second-place Holyhead Hawks stayed hot on Thunderbirds’ tails with a 37-9 beating of Walis Llachar.
Erin Jones had a fine game for Llachar, who were never in contention.
Joy for Silyn Aur, who celebrated their first win courtesy of a 27-18 result against Llewod Llyfni.
After 10 straight losses, developing team Aur got off the mark, leading just 14-11 at the break, but producing strong third and fourth quarters.
Thunderjags outscored Pwllheli Dreigau Dre 25-16, with Nel Williams a standout performer for the winning side. Dre took the third quarter 5-3, but that was not sufficient to affect the result.
