GENERO ADRAN NORTH: Two long range stunners salvage a point for Felinheli against Flint

Katie Midwinter scored a sensational equaliser for Felinheli

GENERO ADRAN NORTH – JANUARY 11, 2026

CPDM Y Felinheli 2 (Edwards 70, Midwinter 87)
Flint Town United 2 (Hastings 8, Rosie Hughes 59)

Two stunning long range goals in the final 20 minutes ensured Felinheli took a point from Sunday’s clash with Flint at Treborth.

The strong wind dictated it was almost a game of two halves, the Silkwomen having the better of the first and the home team in the ascendency after the break.

Ruby Hastings (centre) and Rosie Hughes scored for Flint, whose player of the match was Beth Roberts (left – No 8)

Flint took an eighth minute lead when Jordanne Greenough produced a great goal-line clearance during a corner scramble, but Ruby Hastings was able to find the net.

Despite this, Felin were still in good spirits and competed well, playing fantastic football from the back.

Greenough, Llio Henshaw and Llywela Edwards were seeing plenty of the ball and stringing great passes together. Half time 0-1.

Felinheli came out strongly for the second half and applied wind-assisted pressure, so it was against the run of play when the away side doubled their lead.

A quick counter-attack saw Shannon Hobbs release Rosie Hughes to use her pace and apply a fine finish for 2-0.

However, Felin didn’t give up. A fantastic free kick goal from the in form Llywela Edwards on 70 minutes gave the hosts a confidence boost they needed to come back into the game.

With the fresh legs and impact of sub Katie Midwinter, Felin kept pushing and three minutes from time they grabbed the equaliser.

Midwinter let fly from all of 25 years and the ball sailed in over keeper Becky Bott.

Felinheli’s stand-in manager Llio Emyr said: “As the manager today I’m very happy with the overall performance. Considering we’ve had a long break over Christmas, this was exactly the fighting, confident performance I wanted from the girls.

A great match, played the right way from both teams.”

Llio also paid tribute to the performances of 17-year-olds Rubie Davies and Elsi Glyn Williams.

She said: “They both produced arguably the best performance of their seasons so far. Great character and strength from both.”
