He surely must rank as one of the players of the season in North Wales football so far.

Christoph Aziamale has had a dynamic impact on a Trearddur Bay side which reached the Welsh Cup quarter-finals for the first time in their history at the weekend with a 5-3 victory over Cymru South favourites Newport City.

Today sees Christoph celebrate his 28th birthday, having been born on December 18, 1997.

The much-travelled forward, who holds German citizenship, joined Trearddur at the beginning of this season and it may be fair to say this is the one where his talents have shone brightest in his career to date.

Christoph has netted 15 goals in 22 appearances for the Beach Boys so far, sharing a fruitful partnership with Tom Hilditch, the Tier 3 team’s top-scorer on 20.

In last Saturday’s epic Welsh Cup triumph over Tier 2 Newport, Christoph made the scoresheet and did so again in the midweek narrow 2-1 loss against Ardal North West leaders CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876.

On just his second appearance for the Ynys Môn side, he bagged a hat-trick in a 6-0 victory over Penmaenmawr Phoenix.

As a youngster, Christoph was on the books of the gap Connah’s Quay and The New Saints academies before joining then Welsh Premier club Rhyl in 2016-17, making one first team appearance.

By January 2017, he had moved on to Bangor City, where he played in four first team matches – all as a substitute, three WPL and one Welsh Cup – and stayed until October of that year.

Spells in the English pyramid with Stafford Rangers, Eccleshall and Market Drayton followed before Christoph returned to the Welsh Premier with Cefn Druids in November 2020.

He featured in nine matches for the Druids, scoring his only WPL goal in a 4-1 win over Haverfordwest County on December 12, 2020.

Next came relatively short-lived south of England stints with Kent-based Sittingbourne, Basildon United from Essex and Sutton Common Rovers of Surrey.

Christoph made Bala Town his fourth Cymru Premier club when he signed for the Maes Tegid outfit in February 2023. He made one very fleeting first team appearance, mainly featuring in the Development team prior to a switch to Aberystwyth Town in summer 2024.

He clocked up eight appearances for the Park Avenue outfit before spending the second half of 2024-25 at Flint Mountain of the JD Cymru North. Most of his outings came for the Reserve team, but he did score for the firsts in a defeat at Penrhyncoch.

Summer 2025 delivered a move to Trearddur Bay, where Christoph’s career is enjoying a new lease of life.

Hoping today is a great day Christoph – good luck for the rest of the season.
