What a day for North Wales football!

Saturday, December 13, 2025, will surely go down as one of the greatest days in pêl-droed Gogledd Cymru’s history.

SIX of our clubs made it through to the Welsh Cup quarter-finals, while FOUR reached the last eight of the FAW Amateur Trophy – with a fifth place already assured.

In the JD Welsh Cup…..

BOOM! Tier 3 CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 advanced to the quarters with a tremendous 2-0 home win over Tier 2 Trefelin BGC of Cymru South.
WHAM! Trearddur Bay of Tier 3 Ardal North West became only the fifth Ynys Môn side in history to make the last eight of the national knockout with a thrilling 5-3 defeat of second-tier Newport City.
CLANG! Flint Town United upset the odds by knocking out cup favourites Penybont in South Wales on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
AYENNNG! Colwyn Bay of the Cymru Premier comfortably advance with a 3-0 success at Pontypridd United.
BIFF! CPD Y Rhyl 1879 booked a spot in their first Welsh Cup quarter-final after two late goals sink Porthmadog 2-1.
POW! Caernarfon Town win an all-Cymru Premier battle at Cardiff Met 4-2 to become the sixth North Wales club to make the final eight.

Only two South Wales teams are left in the competition – Barry Town United, who saw off Gresford Athletic 4-0 and Caerau Ely, who pounced late to end the cup dreams of Cymru North leaders Llandudno.

Unbelievable!

In the FAW Amateur Trophy….

ZZZZZZAP! Penmaenmawr Phoenix, one off the bottom of Tuer 3 Ardal North West, eliminate Tier 4 Mumbles Rangers 2-0 at Cae Sling!
WHAP! Llangefni Town bag a 93rd minute winner through Ifan Mansoor to edge past Penrhiwceiber Rangers and make the last eight.
OINGO BOINGO! Great effort from CPD Llannefydd to dump out holders Port Talbot Town 2-0.
EH UP! LET’S SUP! Prestatyn Town squeeze through on penalties at Tier 5 AFC Wattstown to advance to the quarters.
It was FOUR wins out of FOUR for North Wales in today’s fourth round, and there will be a fifth northern qualifier with Llanrwst United and CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 due to clash in the final last 16 tie next weekend.
Also through from South Wales are Bridgend Street, Porthcawl Town Athletic and Pontardawe Town.

What a day! HIT THE NORTH!
