The goal energised Kinmel Bay, who pushed for their second with numerous shots denied by keeper Nat Minard.
The second goal for Bay came in the 43rd minute in spectacular fashion. Millie Gilbertson whipped in a corner with pace and precision, her thunderous low delivery evading everyone and flying straight into the net to make it 2–0.
Penmaenmawr Phoenix found their response just 6-minutes later. In the 49th minute, Amy Rowlands capitalised on a break in the box, slotting home to bring the hosts right back into the contest.
The goal shifted momentum, and the game opened up even further, with chances at both ends.
Both goalkeepers were called into action repeatedly, producing excellent saves to deny what looked like certain goals.
Each side pushed hard for the next breakthrough, and just when Kinmel Bay thought they had held on for the win, Penmaenmawr struck at the death.
From a final corner, Tiffany Pacelli delivered a superb ball into the area, and Ellen Dainty rose highest to head home with the very last touch of the match.
The referee’s whistle blew immediately after, sealing a dramatic 2–2 draw. A fiercely competitive encounter, full of quality, effort, and end-to-end action—both teams can be proud of their performance in a match that had everything.
