Also in Division 1, Saltney Town climbed up to second thanks to their third league victory on the spin. Their previous two victories had been by the odd goal, but the Bordermen posted an emphatic 5-0 scoreline today against basement side Ruabon.

FC Queen’s Park 9
Chirk AAA 1

Mikey Latham bagged his 15th goal of the season for Queen’s Park

Chirk’s season seemingly goes from bad to worse.
Despite taking the lead, they were on the wrong end of a hiding by FC Queen’s Park, who shared the goals around eight different players at the Queensway Stadium.
Tom Freeman edged the Colliers in front on just three minutes with his 11th goal of the season.
By half time, however, the Park were 4-1 up courtesy of net-finders from Sam Molyneux, Ryan Kershaw, Nicky Williams and Mikey Latham.
Corey Smart, Rhys Hughes (2), Ethan Simpson and Jordan Williams completed the rout in the second half.
Queen’s Park now join Broughton United, Coedpoeth United and Rhostyllen in the semi-finals – what a line-up! Very hard to predict a tournament winner from here.
