NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE – REPORTS, NOVEMBER 29

COOKSON CUP QUARTER-FINALS

Kinmel Bay 11 Llandudno Amateurs 0

Great goalmouth action from Y Morfa

Kinmel Bay rattled up their biggest win in over two years at the expense of an under-strength Amateurs side at Y Morfa.
Not since recording a 12-0 away victory at Brymbo in the FAW Amateur Trophy back in September 2023 had Bay piled up such a huge total.
Kinmel Bay remained on course for a third successive Cookson Cup Final appearance, having lifted the trophy in 2023-24 before finishing runners-up last season.
Bay netted four goals in the first half on Saturday, Mckenzie Slaven, Lewis Thompson, Matty Rees and Jacob Jones all on target.
In the second half, Jones netted twice more to register a hat-trick and reach 19 goals for the campaign.
Thompson completed a double, with Sean Sheridan, Matty Beach, Liam Jones and Josh Williams also making the scoresheet.

CPD Cerrigydrudion 4 CPD Bro Cernyw 1

Sub Tomos Watkin-Jones made a welcome return to scoring action with a double for Cerrig in Saturday’s quarter-final against Cernyw.
Jones, 25, was top-scorer in the North Wales Coast East Premier Division last season with 28 goals, but unfortunately suffered a bad injury towards the end of the campaign which kept him out of action until he appeared as a sub at Y Glannau on November 22.
He came on with an hour gone last Saturday and found the net on 82 and 87 minutes, the second one a penalty. Since joining Cerrig in 2023-24, Jones has bagged 60 goals in 53 appearances.
Sion Jones handed Cernyw a 1-0 half time lead in Saturday’s quarter-final, but Tomos Tryfan Jones, Watkin-Jones (2) and Iorwerth Jones turned the tables.

Mochdre Sports A Llanfairfechan Town A

This match was abandoned early in the second half due to the pitch being rendered unplayable by the referee.
Mochdre were 3-0 up at the time, Kai Davies scoring twice and Joe Chaplin once. The tie must now be replayed.

Aaron Gregson (2), Ben Kelbrick and sub Corey-Lee Roberts shared the goals as Penrhyn Bay remained in command at the peak of Division One.

Prestatyn Wanderers 2 Prestatyn Sports 6

A game of two halves saw Sports score notch all of their six goals in the opening 45.
Hat-trick star Matty Griffiths, Ashley Garrett. Dan Martin and Dylan Taylor combined to put the visitors in complete control at the break.
Sub Rhys Bennett delivered a double for Wanderers in the second half, restoring some respectability to the scoreline.
