North Wales Recreational Women’s League: Win for Lionesses over Kinmel Bay in close battle
NORTH WALES RECREATIONAL WOMEN’S LEAGUE – DECEMBER 1

Mochdre Lionesses and Kinmel Bay Ladies served up a highly entertaining, end-to-end contest played over two 30-minute halves on Monday evening.
Both teams created chances, moved the ball well, and showed real determination across the pitch.
Mochdre opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when Anna Grant calmly converted after a well-placed assist from Olivia Sutcliffe.
Despite the goal, the game remained evenly balanced, with Kinmel Bay responding strongly and forcing several key saves from Mochdre keeper Kelsey Hughes.
Mochdre added a second in the 43rd minute through Charlotte Thomas, who reacted quickly in the box, slotting the ball in the left lower corner.
The second half continued in the same end-to-end fashion, with Kinmel Bay creating multiple good opportunities, only to be denied again by the excellent Hughes, who produced several standout stops.
At full-time, both sides recognised each others outstanding performers.
Kinmel Bay chose Kelsey Hughes as Mochdre’s Player of the Match, while Mochdre named Kerry Williams as opposition POTM for her strong all-round display.’
A close, competitive match played in great spirit, with Mochdre edging it on the scoreboard despite an evenly matched contest throughout.
