In the battle of teams with 100 percent records, CPD Sychdyn United took bragging rights in the Mold-area derby and ended CPD Yr Wyddgrug’s perfect start in the NEWFA Trophy, while maintaining theirs and jumping to the top of the standings after five matches.

Two late goals from Joe Mitchell clinched the 4-2 victory for Sychdyn over their Flintshire rivals.

In Division One, Penyffordd Lions celebrated just a second win of the season and put some distance between themselves and the foot of the table, while Saltney Town joined the chasing pack in the top half after edging a seven-goal thriller at Chirk AAA.

Ruthin Town Colts are now only three points off top spot in Reserve Division Two after a 4-2 win over Coedpoeth United Development and Seth Evans is just two goals behind top marksman Sean Humphreys following the youngster’s hat-trick today.
