Neil Gibson has been appointed permanent manager of Altrincham FC.
The double Welsh Cup-winning former Prestatyn Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads boss takes full-time charge of the National League club with long-time associate Lee Jones alongside him as assistant.
After a strong initial four-week spell in charge of the first team, Jones and Gibson have signed contracts through to the end of the 2026/27 season.
Since taking on the Robins’ job on a temporary basis last month, the team has taken 10 points out of a possible 15.
Alty lie in 15th place, six points clear of the bottom-four drop zone.
Three straight wins over Boston United, Truro City and Brackley Town convinced the club board they have the right men at the helm.
Talking about the appointment, Alty chairman Mark Luby said: “The club has gone through a full process in appointing a new permanent manger. The decision to appoint Neil Gibson and Lee Jones was not taken purely on the results.
“Neil and Lee have demonstrated to the Board over the four weeks since they came into the building that they have all the experience and necessary skills to keep current momentum and continue to move us in the right direction. I would like to congratulate them both on their appointment, they thoroughly deserve this chance, and I am looking forward to working closely with them in the coming seasons.”
