Neil Gibson made a solid start to his reign as interim manager of National League side Altrincham on Saturday afternoon.
The Robins earned a workmanlike 0-0 draw at Braintree Town to edge up a place to 19th in the table.
Although Alty are without a win in seven league matches, the result at Braintree, who are two positions below the Greater Manchester club, is a decent base to work from.
It was the Robins’ first clean sheet in nine league outings.
Former Connah’s Quay Nomads and Prestatyn Town boss Gibson, who last season saved Wealdstone from National League relegation after a five-month stint, has taken temporary charge at Moss Lane alongside long-time number two Lee Jones.
