Six-goal Junction stormed into the last four of the Intermediate Cup against a Gwalchmai side which beat the Railwaymen 4-3 in the 2023-24 semi-finals in extra time.
It was a different story in Saturday’s semi at The Flyover.
The hosts were always in control, goals from Bryan Roberts and Jamie Moorhouse giving them a 2-0 half time lead.
After the interval, Lee Davies (2), Dave Maddock and Jack Williams made it 6-0 before a double from captain Darren Roberts brought some level of respectability to the final score for the Anglesey outfit.
A complete all-round performance in tough conditions at Swan Road saw Mochdre reach the semi-finals of the Intermediate Cup.
After a goalless first half, the home side broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute via another unstoppable free-kick from Aidan Roberts.
This was followed by a composed finish from Niall Owen in the 64th minute.
North Wales Coast West Premier Division side Talysarn had Jamie Griffiths red-carded after the final whistle.
Nefyn needed a penalty shoot-out to edge into the penultimate round.
Both teams had a player red-carded in the first half, Llyr Pennant Williams of the home side on 19 minutes and Boded’s Justin Williams after 26.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 64th minute when Tomi Jones Evans notched his ninth goal of the season for the Penwaig.
The islanders looked to be heading out before sub Casey Boylan netted from a Corey Hughes assist in the 91st minute.
That meant a spot-kicks contest which the hosts won 4-1.
A six-goal thriller at Glan Clwyd Sports Centre led to a penalties showdown to decide the winner and it was visitors Menai Bridge who advanced.
Harrison Bellis scored twice in the first half for Y Glannau, Leon Owens replying to make it 2-1 to the hosts at the interval.
A Matthew Jones penalty on 73 minutes levelled it up, then there was late drama as David McHugh looked to have bagged the winner for Y Glannau after 90.
However, in the second minute of added time, Sion Hogan set up Lewis Clayton for the equaliser and the islanders then triumphed 4-1 on penalties.
