Seven-goal cracker on Anglesey goes the way of Henllan

KIA LLANDUDNO NORTH WALES COAST WOMEN’S LEAGUE – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12
Trearddur Bay 3 (Head 15, Thomas 47, Mulvey 62)
Henllan 4 (Woodbridge 18, L Williams 21, Pierce 25, Fitzgerald 34)
With Henllan only having 11 players available and Trearddur Bay missing a few it was always going to be a close game on Sunday at Lon Isallt.
The home team took the lead on the quarter hour mark with a well taken free kick from Clare Head, but Henllan were level a few minutes later when a Lia Evans shot was parried by keeper Brooke Northcote and the ball fell to Amy Woodbridge who finished clinically for her first goal in her first start since signing from Rhyl,

Three minutes later Lleucu Williams scored her 4th goal of the season with another strike from outside the box which is fast becoming her trademark.
A few minutes later the Denbighshire team went 3 1 up when a Williams corner was met perfectly on the volley by Magi Pierce smashing into the roof of the net, and a carbon copy of the goal she scored in the last game.
Henllan made it four goals in a 16-minute spell when Mabli Fitzgerald cut inside a defender and her shot found the corner of the net with another excellent finish.

If the first half was Henllan’s the second belonged to Anglesey based team who were back in the game on 47 minutes when a corner was knocked on by Katie Bolton and nodded in by Meinir Thomas at the far post.
Just past the hour, Erin Mulvey made it 3 4 with a fine individual goal running through from midfield,
Trearddur Bay pushed for an equaliser in the last 20 minutes but Henllan held on for their first away win of the season,
Coach Dave Edwards was delighted with the win, saying: “We took our chances in the first half and deserved to be ahead at half time, in the 2nd half we really didn’t get going and it was always going to be difficult with every player playing the full 90, but we had to dig in and got the 3 points.”
