Congratulations to promoted Colwyn Bay seconds

Colwyn Bay seconds secured a quick return to the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition 2nd XI Premier Division after thrashing visitors Ainsdale 2nd XI by 10 wickets on Saturday.
Ainsdale won the toss, elected to bat, and were skittled out for just 20 in 14.4 overs, Tom Clarke taking 5-15 and James Jones 4-3.
Bay then eased to 24-0 off 3 overs, Samuel Costley 23 not out. The match took less than 18 overs to complete.
The North Wales side finished bottom of the 2nd XI Premier last season, but will be back there in 2026 after clinching second spot in Division One.

Rainhill 1st XI (5) 0-0 Colwyn Bay 1st XI (5) 172-6 dec

Bay face almost certain relegation from the Premier after just one season back in the top flight.
Last Saturday’s game at Rainhill was abandoned due to the weather, leaving the Welsh side next-to-bottom, 24 points behind the club above with just this weekend’s home clash against Bootle to come.
Dan Russell made 74 in Bay’s total of 172-6 declared off 31 overs at Rainhill before the rain intervened.

1st XI Second Division
Northop Hall 1st XI (6) 146-6 dec Whitefield (Roby) 1st XI (20) 147-9

Already promoted Northop Hall suffered a surprise home defeat at the hands of lowly Whitefield on Saturday.
Put into bat, Hall declared on 146-6 off 33 overs, openers Jac Kennedy (64 not out) and Carwyn Johnson (39) putting on 71.
Whitefield got home on 147-9 off 36.2, Cronje Van Greunun a match-winning 83 not out, Paul Jenkins taking 4-59, James Hurlin 3-57 and Johnson 2-30, the final visiting pair adding an unbroken stand of 15 to seal the win.

Parkfield Liscard 1st XI (5) Prestatyn 1st XI (5) cancelled

2nd XI First Division
Highfield 2nd XI (6) 135-8 Northop Hall 2nd XI (8) 168-7 dec

Jamie Edwards grabbed a stunning 7-30 as all but relegated Northop Hall seconds claimed a winning draw at Highfield.
Opener Michael Williamson ended 84 not out as the North Wales visitors set 168-7 declared off 44.1 overs after being put into bat.
By the close, Hall had their hosts eight down for 135, Edwards the star bowler.

2nd XI Second Division
Prestatyn 2nd XI (4) 102-10 Parkfield Liscard 2nd XI (25) 107-4

Niladri Dutta made 30 and Jake Jones 26 in Prestatyn seconds’ effort of 102 all out, then visitors Parkfield sealed victory with 107-4, Samuel Hughes a tidy 2-8 off five overs.
