NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE DIVISION ONE REPORTS AND TABLE – AUGUST 30

Llandyrnog United 3 Penrhyn Bay 1

Llandyrnog manager Sion Morris was a happy man after his team made it five straight wins to continue the perfect start to their league campaign.

Alfie Harrison put Dyrny into a two-goal lead with strikes on 24 and 36 minutes, and although Gabriel George replied before half time for Penrhyn Bay, a third home goal after 75 from new signing Luke Appleby secured the points.”

After the match, Morris said: “Very good win. We played very well for 25 minutes and deservedly took the lead.

“It was frustrating to concede with one of the last kicks of the half which made the game 2-1 as it gave Penrhyn Bay a bit of a lifeline.

“We really struggled to get going in the second half and whilst we didn’t really look like conceding, we were struggling to keep the ball and dropped our standards.

“Thankfully, we got the 3rd from Luke Appleby which really was something out of nothing to kill the game off.

“The big credit I need to give the lads is we’ve played 5 games in 15 days and we’ve got 15 points. The gruelling schedule is now over which means we can start to work on things again.

“Thank you once again for the home support even with the cold and wet conditions.”

Ryan Watson notched a 91st minute equaliser to salvage a point for Llysfaen at The Bananabeu.

Shaun Davies gave visitors Henllan a 29th minute lead, but Danny Jones equalised close to half time for the Faen.

Steven Collins nudged the hosts ahead on 57, but the away team subs then took centre stage with Harry Payne and Emyr Williams making it 3-2 to the blues.

However, Watson levelled it in the nick of time, Ben Rawlinson with the assist to ensure honours ended even.
