News on another 15 summer signings across North Wales football

Tom Weir has rejoined Denbigh Town

Tom Weir (to Denbigh Town)

Well-travelled, skilful and gifted striker returns to Denbigh Town for 2025-26 after spending pre-season with the Cymru North club.

Weir spent the majority of 2024/25 on loan at Prestatyn Town having signed for Colwyn Bay last summer, but is now back at Central Park for a second spell, 18-months on from his initial departure.

In his teens, the now 24-year-old had a stint with Denbigh Town’s Junior section before linking up with the academies at Connah’s Quay Nomads and Rhyl.

After squad selections for Nomads in the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League against Kilmarnock and Partizan Belgrade, Weir moved to Flint Town United.

His first senior minutes came in March 2020 in the JD Cymru Premier against Nomads.

After 13 senior appearances for the Silkmen, Weir briefly spent time with Conwy Borough in JD Cymru North.

He signed for tier 2 club Gresford Athletic at the start of 2022-23 before a surprise move to tier 5 Bow FC three months later.

After netting 15 goals in 17 first-team appearances for the newly-formed Prestatyn club, Weir put pen to paper for Denbigh at the beginning of 2023-24 – their first season back in the second tier.

Following seven goals in 22 outings, in January 2024 Weir switched to Prestatyn before linking up with Colwyn Bay that summer.

He moved to Prestatyn once more on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

Adam Reid (to Prestatyn Town)

Another quality goalkeeper lands at Bastion Gardens this pre-season.

Experienced stopper Reid played in 27 matches for Rhyl 1879 last season, keeping 12 clean sheets as the Lilywhites lifted the tier 3 Ardal North West title.

Surprisingly released recently by 1879, Reid now reunites with his former boss at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium, Gareth Thomas.

Highly-rated Reid’s other former clubs include Altrincham, Clitheroe, Prescot Cables, Atherton Collieries, where he won the North West Counties League Premier Division title in 2016/17, Runcorn Town, Litherland, Northwich Victoria and Burscough.

Jordan Worthington (to Prestatyn Town)

Hard-working and popular midfielder was another of last season’s title-winning squad released by Rhyl 1879 this summer.

Worthington, 26, joined 1879 from Kinmel Bay in October 2021, scoring three goals in his first two games.

Often unlucky with injuries during his time at Rhyl, in all he made 59 appearances in an 1879 shirt, netting 12 times.

John Richard Jones (Gwalchmai to CPD Llannerchymedd)

Defender Jones, 28, departs from Gwalchmai, where he spent almost two full seasons, making 63 appearances.

Before joining Gwalch, he played for Aberffraw, Bryngwran Bulls and had a brief spell with Holyhead Hotspur.

Tyler Jones (Gwalchmai to CPD Llannerchymedd)

Eighteen-year-old goalkeeper is yet another to leave Gwalchmai this summer, having been the club’s No1 for the entire 2024-25 season.

Previously with Llangefni Town, where he gained tier 3 experience, having developed his talents for junior and senior teams at CPD Gaerwen.

Eddie Servuts (to Connah’s Quay Nomads)

Having made a big impression during pre-season, Nomads did not hesitate in signing up 21-year-old striker Servuts.

Previously known as ‘A Trialist’, many football followers will soon be very aware of his name if he keeps up the form which saw him score a hat-trick against Denbigh Town last weekend.

Latvian born Servuts has previously played at Southport, Skelmersdale, Burscough, Widnes, Trafford, Nantwich and Wythenshawe Town.

Leon Buckland (Bethesda Rovers to CPD Mynydd Llandegai)

Returns to Llandegai after the best part of three seasons with Bethesda Rovers, where he bagged 14 goals in 53 appearances.

Was last with Mynydd in 2022-23, having previously been at Llangefni Town, where he mainly represented the reserves.

Llandegai coach Huw Davies is pleased to have him back.

“We wanted to bring in some wingers with pace this year, and Leon was someone we identified quite early on as an ideal signing for that position,” said Davies.

“He has pace in abundance and his skill and dribbling ability off the wing will be a massive asset to us this year.

“Leon showed early on during our conversations that he wants to progress and test himself at a higher level this year; and that’s a great attitude to build off. I’m excited to see him playing in this team with some quality players around him in our attack.”

Luke Mariette (Flint Town United to Buckley Town)

Luke Mariette

Great signing for Buckley Town ahead of their latest Cymru North campaign.

This 21-year-old midfielder made 26 firat team appearances for Flint Town United last season, helping the Silkmen in the end survive comfortably in the JD Cymru Premier.

Denbigh-born Mariette is a former pro at Blackpool. He debuted with the senior Tangerines side in a 5–0 EFL Championship loss to Peterborough United on 7 May 2022, coming on as a substitute in the 69th minute.

A Wales Under-19 international, he later went on to have loan spells with Curzon Ashton, Southport, Macclesfield and Guiseley before signing for Flint last season.

Ben Woollam (The New Saints to Flint Town United – season-long loan)

Woollam is a 21 year old defender who came through the TNS development squad and has so far played 40 Cymru Premier League games, which include loan spells with Bala and Aberystwyth.

Flint manager Lee Fowler had this to say about his latest signing:“We have signed Woolly on a season long loan from TNS and I would like to thank Craig and TNS for helping us with this. Ben is someone we have been after for two seasons and with interest from another Welsh Prem side in signing him, we are made up he has decided to come here.

“I’m looking forward to working with Ben and I know he will fit in with the lads and we are really pleased to have landed him.

“With Isaac Lee’s future looking increasingly likely to be away from the club, this transfer was always planned and we will be looking to add one more face ready for our first game v Holywell.”

Samy Guillemin (to Llangoed and District)

French centre-back….and that’s about all the information we can find on Samy at present!

Has obviously performed well in pre-season for Llangoed, with news of his signing celebrated on social media.

One of his former clubs appears to be US (Union Sportive) Machaulaise, which looks to have an impressive set-up after logging on to their SM page.

Bienvenue Samy – Bonne chance avec le (or la) Macareux!

Dylan Jones (CPD Pentraeth to CPD Llannerchymedd)

A very talented young player with bags of skill, confidence and composure on the ball. Another player that will no doubt thrive this season in the colours of Llan.

Scored 28 goals over the past two seasons for Pentraeth and before that turned out for Arriva and Gaerwen.

Medd manager Iwan Williams had this to say “I’m over the moon to see Dylan sign on for me. I’ve always been a massive admirer of his play and he’s always been a thorn to our side when we come up against him.”

Seb Bolton (to CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 have signed Seb Bolton, an exciting centre forward who brings a proven pedigree and real attacking quality to the squad.

Having come through the youth ranks at Bradford City, 19-year-old Seb has gone on to represent the likes of Morecambe, FC Halifax Town and Taunton Town – clubs where he developed his reputation as a sharp, intelligent forward with a clinical edge.

His last club was Wythenshawe Town of Northern Premier League Division One West and he has experience of National League South and National League North football.
