Signing of the summer so far?

Flint Town United Ladies have secured the signature of a record-breaking goalscorer for the season ahead.

Beth Roberts, 17, has joined the Silkwomen from CPDM Henllan, for whom she scored 53 senior goals in just 19 appearances last season. Including under-17 matches, her total was 60.

She was also part of the Ysgol Glan Clwyd team which won the Welsh Schools Cup for the third time in four years.

Beth’s tally of 53 goals in the last campaign was the highest in North Wales senior women’s football since 2011-12.

Her talents developed through the successful Henllan Girls set up.

Now Beth will test her skills in tier 2 with Flint of the Genero Adran North League.

The Silkwomen have only been formed for three seasons, but have already made their mark in North Wales football.

After two seasons at tier 3, where they won the North East Wales Women’s League East Division title in 2023-24, they more than held their own in tier 2 last term.

Manager Oli Williams said he is delighted to add Beth to his strike force.

“We are really happy to get Beth over the line. Beth has been in high demand this summer, with some great offers, but we are delighted she has opted to join us on the journey at Flint.

“She will add lots of attacking threat to our already strong front line and playing alongside the likes of Zoë Stopford will really help her develop even further.

“We are excited to see Beth in a Flint shirt and we are confident she will contribute to our targets this season.”
