Remember Aidan Clark? Bodedern Athletic and Bangor Uni Varsity hero? Where is he now?

Remember Aidan Clark?
The big, robust centre forward who had an outstanding 2018-19 season for Bodedern Athletic, scoring 20 goals and helping the Ynys Môn side finish runners up in Welsh Alliance League Division One?
And in the same season, a four-goal hero in a 6-0 Varsity victory for Bangor University against Aberystwyth Uni, which earned him a Welsh Universities cap?
Ever wondered what he’s up to now?
At Grassroots North Wales we always like to stay in touch with players present and past who have entertained us.
This week has seen the 27-year-old Clark transfer to Westfields FC of the Hellenic Premier League, a club competing in Step 5 (or level 9) of the English pyramid.
The league covers an area including the counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, southern Herefordshire, southern Warwickshire, northern Wiltshire and southern Worcestershire.
Aidan is familiar with the league as he has also in recent times represented fellow Hellenic Premier club Pershore United. The Hellenic is a feeder to the Southern League.
Between 2016-19, Aidan spent time in North Wales due to his Sport and Exercise Psychology studies at Bangor University.
He had played for Bewdley Town and Worcester City before his spell in Gogledd Cymru brought engagements with Bangor City Reserves, Bodedern Athletic and Conwy Borough.
He also represented Bangor Uni and the Welsh Universities side.

One of his career highlights came in the aforementioned game, when he scored four times in a 6-0 victory for Bangor against Aberystwyth in a Varsity fixture at Park Avenue watched by almost 2,000 spectators.
In the 2018-19 season, Aidan finished top scorer for a very strong Bodedern side managed by Ricky Williams, which finished only behind Llangefni Town in the tier 3 Welsh Alliance.
They gained revenge of sorts by knocking Cefni out of the FAW Trophy quarter-final stage, a ;late Ryan Taylor volley booking a place in the last four, where Athletic lost to Pontardawe Town.
Clark played alongside the likes of Steven Whittaker, Casey Boylan, Shaun Jenkins and Eric Leach in that excellent Bodedern team.
Aidan stayed at Cae Ty Cristion in the shortened 2019-20 season, adding another 11 goals to his tally operating up front in unison with top-scorer Dean Redmond.

A short spell with Conwy Borough of the Cymru North, whom he joined in February 2020, followed before Covid wiped out the entire 2020-21 campaign below tier 1.
Aiden returned to his native Worcestershire in 2021-22, joining Pershore Town, where he netted 11 goals in 27 games.
The following season he was league top-marksman with 31 goals as Pershore won the Hellenic Division One title.
In November 2023, the striker stepped up a grade when signed for Evesham United, then of Southern League Division One South.
He rejoined Pershore for the 2024-25 season, notching 17 goals, but the new campaign will bring a fresh start with Westfields.
Aidan will always be fondly remembered in North Wales as a traditional, big front man who was unplayable on his day and a genuine goalscorer.
We wish him well at Westfields in 2025-26.
