North Wales Cricket League: T20 report – Menai Bridge v Mochdre, plus weekend fixtures inc. Chirk (Shropshire League)

This weekend sees the start of the full programme of matches in the North Wales T20 League for Premier Division sides.

The competition began on Thursday night when Menai Bridge hosted Mochdre.

Mochdre (0) 165-7

An unbroken seventh-wicket partnership of 61 between Gethin Long and Edward Gadsby went a long way to securing a Menai Bridge victory in this T20 league opener at Tyn-y-Caeau on Thursday, June 26.

Winning the toss and batting, the Anglesey side set 179-6 off their 20 overs, Long 48 not out, Jack Gower 33, Carl Jones 21, Robbie Jones 18 and Gadsby 15 no.

Marcus Mangiameli took 3-39 for the visitors.

Mochdre’s reply ended on 165-7, Owen Davies 36 not out, James French 32, James Gilman 26 and skipper Joe Chaplin 20, Dion Holden 2-31 and Patrick Glover 2-39 for the islanders.
