Prestatyn Town manager Gareth “Perry” Thomas is looking forward to the challenge of getting the club promoted back to Tier 2 next season, with the majority of the current squad re-signed and the promise of some exciting new faces on the way.

It was confirmed tonight that Thomas, who took over at Bastion Gardens six months ago, will stay on as first team boss in 2025/26.

Town are back in Tier 3 for the first time since 2005-06 after being relegated from the Cymru North this season, but Thomas is fully focused on a quick return to the higher level.

He said: “Whilst it’s been confirmed tonight about me staying on, the only hold up with the confirmation was waiting for the licence to be granted so we knew which league we would be playing in.

“Since I came into the club in December, the planning from day 1 was that we would likely be relegated and have to play tier 3 this coming season.

“There has been plenty of work going on both off and on the pitch since the season finished early April for the 1st team and the reserves finishing late April.

“We have managed to secure the majority of the players for the coming season that joined when I took over and this has shown by them already returning to training last week and already having done 4 sessions of fitness work already including a session tonight.

“We have nearly finalised our pre-season planned games and have held talks with various players the last few weeks about joining with hopefully some exciting news in the coming weeks of some potential new signings.

“We have appointed a new reserve manager this evening so it’s all systems go and training will resume Tuesday 27th May. There’s a long way to go to get the club back up through the leagues but as a club we are looking forward to the challenge.”
