Connah’s Quay Nomads women’s team score so many goals it is sometimes overlooked how strong they are at the back as well.
To concede just six goals in 14 matches over a title-winning season, you need solid defenders and a pretty good goalkeeper too.
This is where Molly France comes in. The 18-year-old keeper has won the Genero Adran North Golden Glove for 2024-25.
The young talent played in nine of Nomads’ 14 league matches – all wins – and conceded just six goals, producing five clean sheets.
She was also a standout player in Connah’s Quay’s heartbreaking North-South promotion play-off 3-2 defeat against Pontypridd United, especially in the first half when she produced some amazing saves to help her team lead 2-0 at the break.
A Welsh Colleges international, Molly made her senior debut for Nomads at the start of 2023-24, keeping a blank sheet in a 6-0 victory over NFA on September 10, 2023.
She has since gone on to appear in 33 first team matches, also featuring in a number of games for the under-19 development side.
Molly played in the 2023-24 NEWFA Challenge Cup Final, which saw Nomads win the trophy for a third successive year with a 5-0 triumph over Airbus.
And she completed her second season as a regular by winning the Genero Adran North title with Jordan Parry’s side.
Molly is a highly-rated stopper who looks set for a great future in football.
