North East Wales League: Deeside United resign – Broughton are champions

Broughton United in action this season

Deeside United have resigned from the North East Wales League Championship Division, meaning Broughton United are crowned champions without kicking a ball.

United joined the league at the start of this season, but were bottom of the Championship with just three wins in 22 games.

They had struggled to fulfill recent fixtures and decided they could not see the season out.

Their results have been expunged and the revised table gives Broughton an uncatchable lead at the summit.
