Blaenau score at home to CPD Cefni. Lluniau: Dewi Prysor-Williams – diolch yn fawr iawn

Llongyfarchiadau/Congratulations to Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs – 2024-25 North Wales Coast West Division One champions.

The Quarrymen secured the tier 5 title on Wednesday night without kicking a ball after second-place Caergybi’s 2-0 home loss to Holyhead Town.

Blaenau’s own scheduled match against CPD Mountain Rangers was postponed with the hosts needing a point to guarantee top spot, but Caergybi’s result made that all irrelevant.

Consistency has been the key for the Quarrymen, who have lost just one league game all season – a 4-3 thriller at Deiniolen in December.

Like all good champions, Blaenau have at times won comfortably, but also shown an ability to grind out results, including 1-0 victories over fellow high-flyers Caergybi and Llanfairpwll, plus Holyhead Town and Bethesda Rovers.

Sion Roberts and Owain Jones-Owen, top scorers on 13 and 10 league goals respectively, have both bagged two hat-tricks over the campaign.

Eight straight league wins after that surprise reverse at Deiniolen carried Blaenau to the title with four games to spare.

Gerallt Mitchelmore’s side are still on course for a treble having reached the NWCFA Junior Challenge Cup Final and they remain in the Cwpan Menai Tractors.
