Who are the Grassroots North Wales Clwb y Mis – Club of the Month for February 2025?

Phoenix celebrate yet another goal

For the first time – but surely not the last – Penmaenmawr Phoenix are the Grassroots North Wales Clwb y Mis/Club of the Month.

The February 2025 winners have not only remained unbeaten in the league, but also reached the NWCFA INtermediate Cup Final.

Aaron Keating’s side are one of just two senior North Wales men’s teams still undefeated in league matches in 2024-25 – Rhos United being the other.

Phoenix sit second in the tier 4 North Wales Coast East League Premier Division with 12 wins and four draws in 16 games, scoring 67 goals and conceding a mere 11.

In the league during February, they whipped Bow 6-1, Glan Conwy 4-0 and Llandyrnog United 8-0.

Their best result, however, was a 2-0 victory at holders Gwalchmai in the Intermediate Cup semi-finals.

In all competitions during 2024-25, Pen have played 28 games, won 24, drawn 2 and lost just 2 – both to tier 3 opponents in the Welsh Cup (Llanuwchllyn) and FAW Amateur Trophy (Trearddur Bay).

Phoenix have scored 108 goals across all games, letting in just 25.

They are unbeaten in 16 matches in league and cups dating back to October.

Other teams have had a good month, but we believe Phoenix have performed the best, with their Intermediate Cup semi-final win shading it in their favour.
