Deserved recognition for managers of Llannefydd and Llanuwchllyn

Llanuwchllyn manager Sion Tudor

Village football shone like a beacon when the Ardal Northern League latest Manager of the Month awards for December/January were revealed.

CPD Llanuwchllyn’s Sion Tudor was named top boss in Ardal North East, while Gwyndaf Pritchard and Alistair Stubbs of CPD Llannefydd took the Ardal North West prize.

Over the two months, Llanuwchllyn went unbeaten in the league, winning five out of six matches and drawing against Llansantffraid.

Manager Tudor led his side to the Welsh Cup and FAW Trophy last 16 this season, losing out to Denbigh Town and Trearddur Bay respectively.

Back in October, Llan stunned Cymru Premier side Newtown in the Welsh Cup.

CPD Llannefydd 2024-25

Llannefydd won both their Ardal North West matches in December, including a 4-0 whipping of then leaders Porthmadog, before adding three straight victories in January.

Pritchard and Stubbs’ side are undefeated in nine games across all competitions, winning eight and earning a superb 2-2 draw at Porthmadog last time out.
