It is now five straight home wins for Flint in the Cymru Premier following Friday night’s well-deserved victory over basement side Aberystwyth.
Rico Patterson’s early free kick sailed inches over for the visitors before the Silkmen threatened when Aber struggled to clear a long Jake Phillips throw, Josh Jones’ shot was blocked by Louis Bradford and Elliott Reeves sliced high and wide.
Another monster throw into the box from the right was headed goalwards by Isaac Lee, but Sebastian Osment managed to push the ball out for a corner.
Josh Jones miscued a header from a good position before Osment saved well from Ben Hughes’ turn and shot before the break.
Half-time: 0-0
Lee Fowler’s side made the breakthrough eight minutes into the second half when Bradford’s weak clearance fell to Jones, whose precise pass freed REEVES to drive home the opener.
Reeves fired into the side-netting from another chance before Jack Flint made a spectacular looking stop at the other end to deny Jack Thorn.
Flint needed a second to make the game safe and it came on 77 minutes.
It all resulted from hard work, winning the ball bacl in their own half, before a fine move saw Jones provided a neat pass which gave PHILLIPS space to lash past Osment.
Aber pushed to reduce the deficit, their best effort a Jonathan Evans shot which Flint held safely.
