After a close-fought encounter between these two at the start of the season which Rhos shaded 1-0, David Algieri’s side triumphed more emphatically in Saturday’s away return.

Lewis Sealey, who scored an injury-time decider in last August’s victory at Betws-yn-Rhos, ended up a two-goal hero in the rematch at Top Park.

The first real chance fell to Henllan after six minutes when William Clayton ran through Rhos defenders but sliced his shot which fell to team mate Ifan Clayton, who had time and space on the right, but could only ripple the side-netting.

Rhos defender Alex Stokes (4) heads for goal from a Lewis Sealey free kick

Rhos took the lead in the 11th minute when Richard Hill broke from deep down the left and delivered a lovely through ball for Sealey, who held off the opposition defender well and slotted past the oncoming keeper.

In the 15th minute, Sealey’s long throw was punched out by Henllan stopper Liam Davies only as far as Adam Williams, whose half bicycle kick missed the goal by inches.

Adam Williams had a goal ruled out for offside before a spell of strong challenges from both sides went in, some inconsistent refereeing not helping the situation.

United went two-up in the 33rd minute, captain Stephen Bibby sending a beautiful 40 yard pass to Sealey on the left, whose first-time cross left Billy Bibby with an easy tap-in.

Nine minutes into the second half came number three, some great work from Mike Chapman setting up Adam Williams, whose first time effort found the back of the net.

The scoring was completed on 65, from the left Hill lofting to the edge of the box for Sealey, who controlled with his chest and applied a left-foot finish – his 16th goal of the season,

Prestatyn Wanderers 1 Llandudno Swifts 3

Captain Frank Montgomery, Freddie Banning and Jacob Guy delivered the goals which earned three points for Swifts.

Adam Cassidy replied for Wanderers, who trailed 2-0 at half time. The home side had Petrit Mehmeti sent off for a second yellow card on 77 minutes, while Euan Hince was shown a second yellow for the visitors after 88.

Rhyl Albion 3 Prestatyn Sports 4

A seven-goal thriller went the way of Sports, who remain level on points with leaders Rhos.

Sports started off well, but found themselves 1-0 down after 10 minutes to a Kyle Lally goal.

The visitors got themselves level in the 31st minute when Alex Garrett found Krissy Owen, who smashed home for 1-1.

Goal machine Mike Jones put Sports up 2-1 on 35 minutes after some great play by Alex Garrett.

After the break, the Prestatyn side didn’t really get going, but found themselves 3-1 up six minutes from time via an excellent cross from Ashley Garrett that Krissy Owen volleyed home.

Albion replied on 88 with a Sam Jones penalty,  but Sports went straight up the other end and made it 4-2 when Mike Jones picked out Toby Jones, who rounded the oncoming keeper and lashed into the net

Albion struck again on 94 through Matthew Pendleton, but it was not enough to save them from defeat.

PREMIER DIVISION

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 2 Llandudno Junction 2

With top pair Mochdre Sports and Y Glannau drawing, Phoenix missed the chance to hit the summit after being held at home by nearby rivals Junction.

A cagey opening saw the Railwaymen disrupting the Phoenix style of play.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when a cross into the box from Daniel Prince found Dave Maddock unmarked. Veteran striker Maddock dived towards the ball and found the back of the net with a good header.

Phoenix bounced back in the 24th minute when Adam Hold made a run into the box and squared for midfielder Harley Crossfield to find the bottom corner with a neat finish.

Not long after the home side had a chance to take the lead from the penalty spot, but Stephen O’Neill saved well to deny Daniel Williams.

Half time: 1-1

The home team started the second half well on top and got their just reward in the 49th minute when Hold curled an effort into the top corner from a tight angle.

Junction made it all square in the 74th minute when a counter-attack caught the home team by surprise.

Jack Williams found Maddock, who managed to squeeze the ball in at the near post.

CPD Bro Cernyw 3 CPD Llansannan 3

Sion Jones’ 96th minute equaliser rescued a point for Cernyw.

Llansannan led twice in the first half through Dafydd Jones and Luke Appleby, but Osian Roberts and Marcus Bamber brought it back to 2-2 at the break.

Early in the second half Dafydd Jones restored the Sannan advantage and 3-2 it stayed until that very late leveller.

Rhuddlan Town 3 Bow FC 2

Liam Bowers was a hat-trick hero for Rhuddlan side which ended a run of five straight defeats with a hard-fought success over Bow.

Bowers struck on 19, 70 and 81 minutes for the hosts. Loui O’Carroll netting both for the visitors.

CPD Cerrigydrudion 4 Llanfairfechan Town 0

Tomos Watkin-Jones, Tomos Tryfan Jones, Gavin Owen and Delwyn Jones notched a goal apiece for a dominant Cerrig.

Llandudno Amateurs 4 Glan Conwy 2

Four goals in the final 20 minutes earned the hosts a storming victory.

Back at Glan after a short spell with Conwy Borough, the prolific Lewis Brownson put the visitors one-up on 23 minutes.

They held that lead until 75 showed on the clock, when Ryan Boddis equalised from the spot.

Joe Jones (2) and Alex Bowell added further Amateurs goals, Brownson hitting back with his second for the villagers.

Kinmel Bay 8 Llandyrnog United 0

An eight-goal fest from Kinmel Bay, Connor Morris leading the charge with four to put him on 22 for the season.

Jordan Bellham (2), Charlie Jones and Dani McIlvogue scored the rest.

Mochdre Sports 2 CPD Y Glannau 2

Meet the Mochdre point-saver – Kane Williams

Kane Williams’ 94th minute equaliser rescued a point which kept Mochdre top of the Premier.

Y Glannau looked set to replace them with a 2-1 lead deep into added time, but Williams’ leveller from a Kieran Smith assist ensured honours even.

Niall Owen gave Sports a third-minute lead, Josh MacGillivray made it 1-1 after 20 and a Tom Jones strike on 68 put the visitors in front.

However, 73rd minute substitute Kane Williams saved the day for the table-toppers.
