Caernarfon Town supporters to be admitted free at next home game following double Bala away frustration

Caernarfon Town fans left frustrated by back-to-back games at Bala being cancelled four days apart will be offered free admission to the Canaries’ next home match.

Caernarfon’s game at Maes Tegid on Tuesday evening was called off at half time due to bad weather with the score 0-0, while Friday’s rearranged fixture was postponed late on because of plummeting temperatures and the pitch freezing.

A number of Caernarfon fans travelled the 48 miles to Bala to be met with disappointment on both occasions.

A third attempt will be made to play the phase 1 Cymru Premier game at Bala on Tuesday, January 7.

Supporters who had wasted trips will be admitted free to Caernarfon Town’s home match against Flint Town United on Saturday, January 11.

The club issued the following statement today:

“Following the abandonment on Tuesday and postponement last night of our match at Bala, we have decided that the supporters who made the trip to either match will be given free admittance to our next home match at the Carling Oval, against Flint Town United.

“Our chairman, Paul, explains the club’s thinking: ‘As a board we always appreciate the fantastic support the club gets from the Cofi Army. Whilst the circumstances of both dates at Bala were unfortunate, we know that many of our supporters have made the effort and paid travelling expenses to attend the matches, and this is our way of trying to make up for their disappointment.

‘We will not be asking for proof of their attendance to Bala, and all they will need to do is tell the board members manning our turnstiles at the Flint match that they attended either of the two recent Bala dates. And finally, thanks to all those of you who made the effort this past week, we and the team appreciate it.’

“Yn dilyn galw’r gem i ffwrdd ar ddydd Mawrth a gohirio neithiwr o’n gêm yn Y Bala, rydym wedi penderfynu y bydd y cefnogwyr a wnaeth y daith i’r naill gêm neu’r llall yn cael mynediad am ddim i’n gêm gartref nesaf ar y Carling Oval, yn erbyn Flint Town United.

Dyma ein cadeirydd, Paul, yn esbonio meddylfryd y clwb:

‘Fel bwrdd rydym bob tro’n gwerthfawrogi’r cefnogaeth wych mae’r clwb yn ei gael gan y cefnogwyr.

Tra bod amgylchiadau’r ddau ddyddiad yn Y Bala yn anffodus, gwyddom fod llawer o’n cefnogwyr wedi gwneud yr ymdrech ac wedi talu costau teithio i fynychu’r gemau, a dyma ein ffordd ni o geisio gwneud iawn am eu siom.

Ni fyddwn yn gofyn am brawf o’u presenoldeb i’r Bala, a’r cyfan fydd angen iddynt ei wneud yw dweud wrth aelodau’r bwrdd sy’n cadw ein giatiau tro yn y gêm gyda’r Fflint eu bod wedi mynychu’r naill na’r llall o’r ddau ddyddiad diweddar yn Y Bala.’

Ac yn olaf, diolch i bawb ohonoch a wnaeth yr ymdrech yr wythnos ddiwethaf, rydym ni a’r tîm yn ei werthfawrogi.”
