PREVIEWS

Two teams in awesome form clash in the Cymru North on Boxing Day when leaders Airbus UK Broughton take on third-place Buckley Town at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Airbus have won eight on the bounce, while Bucks are on a run of five straight victories. Back in September, Mark Allen’s side edged a 3-2 verdict at The Globe.

While it is hard to bet against the Wingmakers in their current might, the Stags, led by Cymru North Manager of the Month for November, Asa Hamilton, are more than capable of presenting a tricky test.

Second-place Colwyn Bay, on a 12-match winning streak in the league, will be out for revenge when they visit Bangor City 1876.

Bay were whipped 4-0 at home by 1876 at the start of the season, but have gone 15 unbeaten since. Can 1876 raise their game sufficiently to end the Seagulls’ tremendous run in front of a Boxing Day crowd?

Central Park should attract a large attendance for the meeting of Vale of Clwyd rivals Denbigh Town and Ruthin Town.

Denbigh are currently in 11th spot with Ruthin lying 13th. While Denbigh’s performances in reaching the Welsh Cup quarter-finals for the first have been awesome, they have lacked consistency in the league.

Last season this pair shared a win apiece and it should be close on Boxing Day, but with home advantage the odds slightly favour Dewi Llion’s men.

Holywell Town will target their fourth win over Llay Welfare this season when the Miners visit the Barton North Wales Stadium.

Town have already won 5-2 at Llay in the league, beaten them 3-1 in the Nathaniel MG Cup and 3-0 in the NEWFA Challenge Cup.

Johnny Haseldin’s men look a good bet to again see off a team currently lying next to bottom and with just one league win in their last eight matches.

Prestatyn Town will be determined to end a 10-match losing run when they welcome Llandudno to Bastion Gardens.

A Tudno outfit which has won their last three games will present a tough hurdle, especially as Prestatyn cannot field their recent new signings until early January.
