After three straight losses Amateurs returned to winning ways at the expense of a Llanfairfechan outfit which knocked them out of the NWCFA Intermediate Challenge Cup three weeks earlier.
The visitors were by no means at their best, but with a losing run behind them the result was the most important thing.
Amateurs took the lead in the first half after some excellent third man running in behind the Llanfair defence by Alex Bowell, who forced keeper Gavin Lewis into a good save, but there was Joe Jones following up to score on 35 minutes.
Five minutes into the second half, a near post corner by Elliot Croston and an excellent header from Harry Croston drew Llanfairfechan level.
The game at this point could have gone either way, but a couple of tactical and formation changes from Amateurs slowly put them on the front foot again.
Then came the winning goal! after 76 minutes. Yet again outstanding running from midfield by new signing Bowell saw his first shot blocked. He then composed himself and played the ball across the six yard box for super sub Kyle King to net the decider.
The win lifted the Amateurs up to third place.
Luke Appleby scored a hat-trick after missing a penalty for victorious Llansannan.
Andrew Thomas converted a spot kick for the visitors, while Robbie Parry scored twice for the hosts.
Junction trailed to a fourth-minute goal from Ianto Roberts before Bryan Roberts and Steve O’Neill hit back on 71 and 74 respectively to secure the points for the visitors.
Despite suffering the pre-match blow of top-scorer and Premier leading marksman Lewis Brownson leaving for Conwy Borough, Glan Conwy still picked up a good point against dangerous opponents Kinmel Bay.
Mathew Beach put the visitors in front on 16 minutes, but a Dion Lloyd double after 19 and 22 edged Glan ahead at half time.
Bay needed a Connor Morris penalty on 72 to rescue a point.
A third straight home win for Meliden who had to recover a half-time deficit to see off plucky Rhuddlan.
Liam Bowers put Town ahead on 28 minutes, only for a Luke Bowers own goal after 36 to make it all-square.
However, Liam Bowers struck again to hand Rhuddlan that interval advantage.
Early in the second half, Fin Newell made it 2-2, then Lee Beattie and Luca Querci netted on 61 and 69 respectively to dig out a victory for the Miners.
Sports returned to the summit after coming out on top in a game they had won by half time with a 5-0 lead.
Goals from Harvey Jay Holmes (2), Niall Owen, Kieran Smith and Josh Grimshaw handed the hosts that emphatic interval advantages.
Although Jamie Jones replied for Llandyrnog after the break, Mochdre had the last word when Jacob Mylchreest scored on his first team debut.
The first goal was the result of a great cross from Grimshaw finished by Holmes, who burst through from midfield.
Grimshaw extended the lead when he followed up his own saved penalty by Dyfed Baldry and managed to beat the goalkeeper to the loose ball and finish.
October player of the month Owen bagged the third, when he found himself in plenty of time and space 25 yards out and his low shot found the corner.
On 39 minutes, a first time ball across from the right wing from Kieran Smith was passed into the net by Holmes.
Smith himself made it five with a ruthless finish following fine inter-play with John Gardner.
Llandyrnog pulled one back after 54 with a Jones header from a corner.
Mylchreest made it 6-1 when he poked past the onrushing keeper under pressure from a defender after he was put through on goal by Kieran Smith.
The result was made all the sweeter by Mochdre finishing the game with four 16 year olds on the pitch – the club’s first crop of players to come through the junior section after it was restarted almost 10 years ago,
Still the only unbeaten team in the Premier, Phoenix made it six straight wins by seeing off Cerrig at Cae Sling.
Adam Hold broke the deadlock on 24 minutes with a magnificent free kick.
Two minutes into the second half, the on-fire Daniel Williams made it 2-0, but Pen were reduced to 10 players when Logan Williams was shown a second yellow on 55.
After 68 minutes, Daniel Williams made it 3-0 with his 19th goal in all competitions this term, Jamie Jones with the assist.
Tomos Watkin-Jones replied for Cerrig on 79, but the hosts took maximum points.
Swifts stay level on points with leaders on goal difference Rhos after a brilliant victory on the road at Prestatyn Sports.
The visitors took the lead after 17 minutes, Sol Pita profiting from a Jake Carey assist.
Just two minutes after top goal-scorer Mike Jones found the net for Sports after Noel Jones picked him out in the box.
Sports were up against it from the 39th minute after Cy Williams was red-carded.
Adding insult to injury, Freddie Banning edged Swifts in front just before half time.
Four minutes into the second half, Carey made it 3-1.
Sports made a couple of changes, bringing on 16 year olds Toby Jones and Kai Thomas.
The 10-man hosts produced some good football and were unlucky on a couple of decisions before on 72 a Gaz Walsh front post flick on from a corner found Dillan Roberts, who headed home from close range.
Sports pushed for an equaliser which didn’t come and Walsh saw red after 89.
Leaders Rhos bounced back from their NWCFA Junior Cup quarter-final exit by hitting Llysfaen for six in the league.
Undefeated United remain top of Division One on goal difference, having won nine out of 10 natches so far.
Goals were shared between Adam Williams (2, 1 pen), Lewis Sealey, man of the match Mike Chapman, Richard Hill and Alex Stokes.
Harry Payne and Jordan Owen notched the first-half goals which sealed the points for visitors Henllan.
Solomon Dickens replied with a penalty on 74, but it was not enough to save the Bay from defeat.
Fourth-place Albion made it three straight wins, with sub Jacob Gilbert-Jones on the mark twice in their latest success.
Cory McHale, Keiran Kendrick and Matt Pleavin added a goal apiece for Rob Cunnah’s team, Adam Cassidy with a consolation for Wanderers – his fourth in two games.
