Who are Grassroots North Wales Club of the Month for October 2024?

Choosing the Grassroots North Wales Clwb y Mis/Club of the Month for October 2024 has been the hardest task yet.

So many teams were in sparking form throughout the 10th month of the year, with by our calculations NINE emerging with a 100% record of four straight wins.

It took a long time to make our decision, but what eventually swung it was the title of this award – CLUB of the Month not Team of the Month.

And on that basis, we’ve selected a club making great waves in North Wales football – Connah’s Quay Town.

Not only has the first team taken the Tier 3 Ardal North West by storm in their first season in the league, their reserve side, Connah’s Quay Town XI are totally dominating their division.

During October, Town beat Kinmel Bay 3-2 to reach the FAW Amateur Trophy last 32, while in the league they triumphed 3-0 at Pwllheli, fought back twice to draw 2-2 with Felinheli and recovered from 2-0 down to beat fellow high-flying newcomers NFA 3-2. Town lost their keeper in the warm-up, the assistant-manager had to play in goal, they were two-behind at half time, but rallied to win the game.

Who scored two of the Town’s goals? Only the evergreen Welsh Premier League legend that is Jamie Reed!

As for the second team in the North East Wales League Reserves Division Group B, they are nine points clear at the peak, having in October defeated Brymbo Reserves 9-0, FC Queen’s Park Reserves 11-0 and Castell Alun Colts Reserves 4-2, as well as seeing off Penycae Reserves 5-0 in the NEWFA Reserve Cup.

Pascal is not just Grassroots North Wales Player of the Month for October, he is his own club’s choice too

In awarding Connah’s Quay Town Club of the Month for October, we also make their in-form Gambian star Pascal Gomez our unofficial North Wales Player of the Month.

Let’s not also forget that this season, Connah’s Quay Town Football Club has been recognised with the prestigious FAW Together Stronger Award for its exceptional efforts in promoting mental health and well-being within the community.
