GENERO ADRAN TROPHY

Group 1

Connah’s Quay Nomads 3 (Wright 45+2, Slack 80, Whitehead-Hughes 90)
NFA 0

Nomads defeated NFA 3-0 at The Poppies 3G on Sunday afternoon to round off their Genero Adran Trophy group on maximum points.

Alisha Wright scored the opening goal on the stroke of half time as she headed home the rebound from Keira Hardstaff’s initial effort which rattled the crossbar.

Wright’s goal remained the difference for the majority of the match, but eventually a second goal arrived through Hannah Slack, who met Alisha Whitehead-Hughes’ cross and curled beautifully into the bottom corner for her first senior Nomads goal.

Whitehead-Hughes then turned goalscorer to put the game to bed as she unleashed a powerful strike into the roof of the net to round off an impressive display.

Winning manager Jordan Parry praised NFA for presenting Nomads with a different type of problem than previously encountered, defending deep and proving hard to break down.

Parry also acknowledged the exciting opportunity of facing a Genero Adran Premier team in the last 16 of the competition.

Llandudno 4 (E Jones 17 & 55, R Jarvis-Evans 24 & 52)

Two goals apiece from top-scorer Ella Jones and Rebecca Jarvis-Evans ensured Llandudno made a winning start under new manager Jay Davies.

Tudno join Connah’s Quay Nomads, Flint Town United and Llanfair United as North/Mid representatives in the last 16 of this national competition, the Seasiders finishing second in Group 1.

Bangor hit the post before Llandudno took a 17th minute lead, Jones rounding off a great run with a lethal finish into the bottom corner.

Jarvis-Evans doubled the advantage on 24 to make it 2-0 at half time.

Seven minutes into the second half, Jarvis-Evans notched her sixth goal of the season and soon after Jones collected her 14th.
