What better way to start October than to wish Flint Town United forward Kaelyn Williams a happy 19th birthday!
Born on October 1, 2005, Kaelyn hails from Prestatyn and attended the townβs High School.
She has returned to Flint Town United this season after a spell with NFA in 2023-24.
Kaelyn was previously with NFA in 2020-21 and 2021-22, playing for the under-16s and U19s. She bagged a hat-trick in the FAW U16 Girls Welsh Cup at Northop Hall in the latter campaign before joining newly-formed Flint Town United women at the start of 2022-23.
Although it was a tough debut season in senior football for the Silkwomen, Kaelyn did really well, scoring eight goals in 14 North Wales League matches.
She netted three times in a 4-3 victory over Llanystumdwy β the clubβs first hat-trick and only Flintβs second-ever win β and delivered a double in an 8-2 success at Llanfairfechan Town to round off the campaign.
Last season saw Flint emerge as a much stronger force in North Wales Womenβs League East and Kaelyn got off to a flyer, pocketing four goals in her first three games and six in eight matches before switching back to NFA of Genero Adran North in February 2024.
She played four times for the Rhyl-based team before the end of the season, winning a place in the Adran Leagues Team of the Week after a storming debut against Airbus and helping her team avoid relegation from tier 2.
With Flint having won their tier 3 division title with a perfect dozen straight wins, they were promoted to Adran North this term and Kaelyn rejoined them.
She has played in four matches so far during 2024-25, helping the Silkwomen to two wins and a draw, bringing her current record for the side to an excellent 14 goals in 26 appearances.
Being a tall player, Kaelyn brings height to the attack and holds the ball up well. Her short-passing game is very impressive.
Kaelyn is a very popular player at the Essity. She has two dogs, one which has grown quite large and another which is smaller, but will eventually become as large as the other.
She did have a supporters song composed for her once to the theme from Neighbours, but it wasnβt very good so weβll leave it in the past π
Happy birthday to a great person β Kaelyn βnever failinβ Williams!
