Criccieth and Rhuddlan bowlers both achieved the remarkable feat of two successive promotions in the North Wales Coast Bowling League and will compete in Division B in 2025.
In spite of drawing their final league match at Min y Don B, Criccieth BC romped away with the Division C title by 30 points, repeating its achievement of last season when Division D was won by exactly the same margin.
Jason Coupe, Alun Parri and Ken Wyer all achieved 13 wins with Emlyn Williams on 12 demonstrating their side’s overall strength in depth.
Rhuddlan BC clinched runners up spot again behind the Lleyn side, following a home 9-3 win over Old Colwyn. Les Capper, who missed this final victory, was top block with 12 wins and only 2 losses, ably supported by Mike Elgin also on 12.
Remarkably, Rhuddlan used 19 players throughout this season, epitomising the excellent spirit existing within the club.
Fielding only nine bowlers proved very costly for Craig y Don in its last league fixture at Bala when they fell to defeat on aggregate by just 1 point after each team bagged 5 winners.
Gareth W Hughes of Craig Y Don, the division’s No 1 player with 15 wins, went through this season unbeaten, a notable achievement by a loyal clubman and player of high quality!
Mochdre Park B, who narrowly avoided last season’s drop on account of a league restructuring reshuffle, finished on only 45 points and won’t escape relegation to Division D next season.
