Cricket: Clwb Criced Pwllheli are crowned 2024 Division 3 champions

Pwllheli Cricket Club – North Wales League Division 3 champions 2024

Pwllheli made it back-to-back titles within the North Wales Cricket League as they wrapped up the Division Three championship with a 15-0 points win at Buckley seconds on Saturday.

Champions of Division Four last season, the Llyn Peninsula club repeated the feat at a level higher in 2024 with a cracking record of 16 victories out of 22 matches.

Put into bat at Lane End, Pwll opening pair Craig Edwards (58) and Daniel Pigott (56) got the visitors off to an ideal start.

Skipper Ioan Jones notched 34 and Gareth V Edwards added 30 not out as the away side made 228-6 off 40 overs.

Tom Pool took 2-33 and Ravichandran Thushanthan 2-36 for the home team.

In reply, Buckley seconds were bowled out for 124, Mathew Edge 37, Pwllheli’s best bowling figures provided by Kartik Bhardwaj with 4-33, Harri Adams 2-19 and Pigott 2-27.

The visitors won by 104 runs, bringing them a maximum 15-0 triumph which meant them being crowned champions in style.
