Bangor CC all-rounder Nadeem Rehman has become one of a select band of players to achieve a magnificent double in North Wales cricket.
The Indian right-arm off-spinner and top order batsman has reached the 10,000 runs and 500 wickets mark in the North Wales League.
Currently in his 17th NWCL season, Nadeem is just one short of 300 league games.
Hailing from Udaipur in Rajistan, his appetite to experience life in the UK was whetted by a 2002 tour from his hometown club, which is based near Jaipur.
The tourists played matches in London, Manchester and North Wales.
He was keen to return, contacted numerous clubs via the internet and was invited by Pwllheli to come over.
Nadeem eventually joined the Llŷn Peninsula club in 2006 and spent 10 seasons at Parc Bodegroes before transferring to Bangor in 2015, where he has played his cricket ever since.
In 2006, Pwllheli were in Division Two. They won the league title in 2008 and went up to Division One.
Two seasons later, Pwll were promoted again, this time to the Premier after finishing second in Division One.
They were instantly relegated in 2011, but in 2013 were crowned Division One champions.
In 2015, after winning two league titles and three promotions with the Llŷn side, Nadeem decided to try his luck at Bangor.
The all-rounder was part of the Citizens’ Premier Division table-topping sides of 2017 and 2019, thus making it four North Wales league career titles for Rehman.
Nadeem’s statistics between 2006-2022 to date make impressive reading.
