JD CYMRU NORTH – SATURDAY, AUGUST 10

Buckley Town 2 Holywell Town 0

Asa Hamilton’s Buckley maintained their impressive start to the season by stunning reigning champions Holywell at The Globe on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts took the lead inside the first minute as Brad Knight headed home superbly from Max Moore’s cross.

Knight grabbed his second goal of the match just before the hour mark as a goalkeeping error from Ryan Woods allowed the striker to net.

Caersws 2 Ruthin Town 1

Caersws joined leaders Airbus as the only team to start the season with three straight wins as the Bluebirds triumphed 2-1 on home turf against Ruthin.

Summer signing Josh Astley opened the scoring after 14 minutes and the Powys hosts were 2-0 up by the half hour as Sam Phillips found the net.

Ruthin swiftly halved the deficit through Jake Hampson’s penalty, but Caersws were able to hold on to go second in the table.

Guilsfield 1 Airbus UK Broughton 2

Airbus maintained their 100% record in the JD Cymru North in dramatic style as a stoppage time penalty from George Peers saw them snatch a 2-1 victory at Guilsfield.

James Davies fired the Wingmakers ahead with 59 minutes on the clock, but they were pegged back as Guilsfield substitute Jake Cook levelled on 63 after coming off the bench.

Just when it seemed both sides would share the points, Jack Richards fouled Jordan Evans in the box in the 92nd minute which earned the Guils defender a red card and a penalty for the visitors.

Peers held his nerve to dispatch the spot kick to earn Airbus a third consecutive win which keeps them at the top of the table.

Mold Alexandra 2 Denbigh Town 1

Seydou Bamba’s stoppage time winner saw Mold Alexandra come from behind to earn a 2-1 victory over Denbigh Town at Alyn Park.

Owen Davies put Denbigh five minutes before half-time with a powerful strike into the bottom corner, but Mold found an equaliser midway through the second period as new signing Owen Cordiner applied the finish.

This sparked the Alex into life and they completed the turnaround in the third added minute when Bamba latched onto a loose ball and finished from close range to give Mold all three points and back-to-back home wins.
