Chirk were soundly beaten by visitors Shifnal at Holyhead Road last Saturday.
Put into bat, the North Wales side were bowled out for just 109 in 39 overs, opener Liam Walker top-scoring with 33, while Carl Ward took 4-9 off six and Tom Maundrell 4-26 for the travellers.
Shifnal eased to a winning 113-4 off 28 overs, Seamus Mcilroy bagging 2-28 off 11 for the hosts.
Connor Bailey and Martin Wright both scored half-centuries as Chirk seconds maintained their excellent start to the season with a victory which sees them 20 points clear at the Division 7 summit.
Invited to bat, the visitors rattled up 213-8 off 40 overs, Bailey (58) and Wright (50 not out) the main contributors with Gary Bailey adding 28, Nigel Davies 25 and George Collins 24.
Connor Bailey completed a great match with 4-38 as Pontesbury were bowled out for 159 in 37.2 overs.
Davies took 2-14 and Rhys Evans 2-15 for an impressive Chirk attack.
